Roadtown Wholesale Trading Limited (RTW) is currently seeking a dynamic individual for Category Manager! In this role, you will lead the development of the offer of your categories and buying team, ensuring that clear strategies and plans are developed and implemented to drive sales growth, profit and support the development of our brands.

RTW is the British Virgin Islands’ largest and most successful Wholesaler and Retailer of food, beverages and related goods, operating primarily as RiteWay Food Markets, with seven retail outlets, one Cash and Carry, and one wholesale operation.

Your Role

  • To drive development of and implement structured and cohesive ways of working through implementing Company pricing and promotional strategies.
  • To drive the development of category strategies ensuring that all Buyers have clear objectives and plans to maximize sales growth and opportunities delivering the business requirements for wholesaler and retailer sales and margins.
  • Accountability for leading a team and ensuring effective people development and performance management is high on the agenda.
  • Build strong working relationships with Suppliers, demonstrating versatility in negotiating style and the ability to construct joint business plans.
  • Drive innovation through effective ranging strategies reflecting consumer demand and trends.
  • Establish collaborative ways of working with key partners within the business including marketing, merchandising, store planning, supply chain and retail operations to ensure effective communication and execution of the offer.
  • Drive the provision of management information to allow categories to be accurately forecasted and regularly monitor the team’s progress taking corrective action if necessary.
  • Take ownership for stock holding ensuring good availability in balance with the Company’s cash flow.
  • Ensure the team is effectively resourced, directed, motivated and developed enabling them to reach their full potential for both individual and Company benefit.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Marketing.
  • 5+ years’ experience in either replenishment buying/procurement, merchandising, store management, operations, or brand management.
