We are looking for Freelance Webnovel Translators and Proofreaders to bring popular Korean original content to Gen-Z and Millennial audiences in our English-speaking target markets. A qualified candidate is an avid online novel reader with translation and/or proofreading/editing experience, an excellent grasp of?the nuances of both English and Korean, and a strong understanding of fiction of all genres.

Freelance Webnovel Translators and Proofreaders will translate, and/or review, edit, and provide feedback on translated content, explaining cultural nuances as well as making suggestions that will contribute to the consistency and accuracy of all content on our platform. Candidates for both positions must have demonstrated talent for capturing and conveying nuances in the source content to our English-speaking users. They will proactively communicate with the Localization team on project status and prioritize multiple projects with tight turnaround times.

• Translate Korean online fiction content to deliver the best possible tone, quality, and flow in English
• Develop and maintain linguistic assets such as glossaries to establish quality standards and advise on using genre-specific terminology
• Proofread/edit translated content to make it flow like novels originally written in English
• Work promptly and closely with the Localization Team to ensure content is suitable for the target market and delivered on time

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of one-year professional experience in translating, transcreating, and/or proofreading creative content from Korean to English
• Well-versed in romance fantasy novels (royal, Middle-Age themes)
• Able to grasp nuances of both English and Korean
• Able to translate and/or proofread/edit translations for the intended purpose and audience
• Extreme attention to detail and accuracy
• Self-starter and ahead of the game
• Experience in copywriting is a plus
