Description

Translate and post-edit Chinese-to-English translations using human language technology in a computer-aided translation and machine translation (MT) environment
-
Learn and follow client-specific style guides so that all translations use "one voice" (the client's)
-
Receive, accept, and incorporate client and reviewer feedback
-
Perform other administrative or linguistic tasks such as alignment, MT evaluation, Translation Memory and Term Base management, and Optical Character Recognition
-
Maintain accurate and complete performance metrics daily for reporting purposes
Responsibilities

U.S. Citizenship
-
Must perform work from the U.S.
-
Experience translating Chinese into English for at least two years
-
Native Chinese language skills and at least near-native English language skills (will be tested)
-
Post-elementary education and/or experience living in a Chinese-speaking country
-
Accurate keyboarding / typing skills (minimum 60 wpm) in Chinese and English
-
Excellent knowledge of English and Chinese grammar
-
Strong attention to detail
-
Ability to focus and follow complex instructions
-
Interest in being trained/mentored and the ability to accept and incorporate feedback
-
Proficient technology skills and interest in learning new tools/workflows
-
BA/BS in relevant field
-
Knowledge of political science, military, government, and current affairs
-
Experience with cloud-based Computer-Assisted Translation and Translation Management Systems

Demonstrated ability to learn quickly
-
Desire to continuously improve (quality and/or production)
-
Understanding of government contracting requirements, such as maintaining confidentiality in a "need-to-know" professional working environment

Highly organized, flexible, and motivated team player
