Junior Project Manager

Description

Management and delivery of single projects and / or supporting Senior Project Managers on larger projects with a value of circa £5M / year.

Manage the delivery of assigned projects ensuring that the work is conducted in a safe, timely and effective manner in line with the relevant procedures.

Delivery of projects to the budgeted margins, effective contract change management and communication throughout the project lifecycle
-
Direct interface with Clients to develop business opportunities; build relationships and to communicate on project progress and proactively manage the scope of work including risks and opportunities.

Prepare and present formal monthly progress reports as part of business governance and client review.

Prepare and maintain project documentation including Project Definition Document, Quality Plans, Schedules and other documents as required.

Prepare specifications and support the process of contractor selection and contract placement.

Providing accurate and timely information, data and reports regarding the project status, resourcing levels, activities and performance.

Support the development of technical and commercial proposal responses.
Responsibilities
-
A degree or equivalent qualification in an appropriate discipline.
-
Project management experience (i.e. through a summer placement or job).
-
Leadership, organisation and/or project management skills whether in an academic or non-academic context.
-
Genuine interest in nuclear decommissioning and waste management.
-
Proactive and adaptable approach suited to the diverse and challenging nature of the business.
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-
Well versed in the preparation of reports and information using packages such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Enthusiasm, drive and a willingness to get involved.

Able to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
-
Will need to be able to obtain appropriate security clearance.

Experience or understanding of the nuclear industry would be beneficial.

Experience of working in a technical and/or customer facing environment.
-
MS Project experience would be beneficial or similar WBS driven project scheduling experience
