The aim of research at Helmholtz Zentrum München is to attain an understanding of the underlying mechanisms of diabetes, chronic lung diseases and allergies. To achieve this objective, the Center seeks to develop personalized approaches for prevention, diagnosis and treatment. Through a close network of basic and translational research and technology-driven discoveries, Helmholtz Zentrum München pursues a comprehensive research approach. Thus, research contributions can also be made to other disease areas, and the development of personalized medicine can be promoted.
